Researching What My Costs and Coverage for Health Insurance will be if I am Self Employed

My employer has been making a lot of cut backs recently. There are have a few series of lay offs in my department as well. I was nervous during the first one but then I heard that they were offering a pretty good compensation package if you took the lay off. So, I have been thinking about volunteering to be laid off and then doing freelance work. I have been researching my costs and coverage for self employed health insurance. This would only be a good option for me, so long as insurance will not cost me an arm and a leg!
